At the anniversary edition of Diagonale, the festival of Austrian film, VdFS was once again a guest in Graz as a partner and benefactor.
As part of the opening ceremony, the Diagonale Grand Acting Award was presented again this year in cooperation with VdFS (Große Diagonale Schauspielpreis) This year, Branko Samarovski was honored for his services to Austrian film culture. Very well deserved, in our opinion!

Of course, we also congratulate all the other winners of the Diagonale 2022. VdFS is pleased to sponsor the Diagonale Acting Awards as well as the Diagonale Awards for Picture Design, Film Editing, Production Design, Costume Design and Sound Design. Congratulations!

As every year, we also support young Austrian filmmakers by inviting 20 students of Austrian universities (focus on film) and 6 starting scholarship holders of the BMKÖS (working scholarship for visual arts, architecture, design, photography, media art) to Graz to participate in the Diagonale, so they can network and exchange ideas with industry colleagues.

For the anniversary edition, the entire VdFS team was in Graz. We had a great time, nice meetings and good projections. Here's to the next 25th years of Diagonale!
