Cooperative member Topsy Küppers deceased

The VdFS bids farewell to Topsy Küppers, an important figure in the Austrian cultural scene and a long-standing member of the VdFS cooperative.

As an actress, singer, author, and theater director, she had a lasting impact on the cultural life of our country. Her commitment to Jewish culture and remembrance was tireless and deeply moving. She provided important social impetus, particularly with the Theater der Courage, which she founded.

Her artistic versatility was always combined with a clear stance against anti-Semitism and exclusion. Topsy Küppers was not only a brilliant artist, but also a committed humanist. We will miss her voice, her energy, and her vision. With her passing, the VdFS loses a long-standing, valued member who passionately championed the rights and concerns of creative professionals.

Ms. Küppers passed away on June 14, 2025. The VdFS extends its sincere condolences to her family.
